Happy leap year!

Ahhhh, the day of balance. I turned 21 last wednesday!

Spent it in Vegas, pretty awesome, pretty fun..

Innnn other news. I get to stay here at the dealership, but a new position was made for me! (Okay not really -for- me, but I'm sure the first here to have it) I now work in the fleet department, handling dealer trades and completing off-site deliveries, including paperwork. I'm just happy not to be in the same ol' sales swing that I've been in the last three years (through four different companies).. burned myself out a bit.

Thank you to the management team at Penske Honda for giving me the opportunity within the company, and most importantly, the start of my life's next chapter.

Corny, right? I know. But forreal.. I've been stressing myself out over the last few months, and I can't wait to start a new lifestyle. I want to complete my DJ rig finally, and keep up on the practice. I want to ride my bike more often, especially as this weather is getting nicer! I want to move out, kick it with the homies, and see my girl more. Hi Ashley :D

It's gonna be nice. Everyone cross your fingers that Mr. Inventory Control Manager here gets his house soon! I'm waitin' on ya :'D

Pourin' 40s out..

So I've been reading a lot of random blogs in the last couple of hours or so, and there are a lot of posts about the author feeling a need for change, and going through the steps to achieve it.

It's where I am right now, too, and I'm working on it. >< But things seem to be changing on their own. A manager that's been here for a number of years left yesterday, and today my best friend here quit, too. It's tough to take, but I'm happy for him.

Congratulations Adolfo.. you're going to get the change you need, too.

Anyway. Here's hoping that things will change for the better on my end. I love change, and I almost always crave it. And I don't like to change one thing at a time.. I like big waves of it. I'm sure it'll be a couple months of good surf

New layout colors

Just until I can get some graphics up for my blog and maybe Shakira's blog..

inspired by Kidrobot's new "Gingham" line which includes this hat:

Wikileaks!

You may have heard about the legal troubles that the Wikileaks site has been having, and if not, you can just imagine the troubles a site like this would have. Created by the two guys that brought us The Pirate Bay, Wikileaks exists so that mostly business-related documents may be published anonymously that some people would rather they not be seen. Pretty awesome, right?

Well in a recent court battle, the company through which the domain name was registered, Dynadot, was ordered to change records so that the domain would no longer be functional.

No matter, this is the Internet! It takes much more than that. Wikileaks can still be found at its IP: http://88.80.13.160/

Read some more on it at The New York Times.

Clouds wasted my life last night

Before I switch gears..

I was going to put up a story about last night's lunar eclipse, but. I'd rather not hear anything about it now that I think about it, because mine was ruined by a sky completely covered by clouds. All that happened was that the clouds got a little more orange. Hate.

Now that HD DVD is dead

It's time to convert!

For all you foos that have an HD DVD collection, don't throw it all out in anger just yet. The fine people at Wired have put together a Wiki how-to to help you convert your defeated HD DVDs into shiny, here-to-stay Blu-Ray Discs.. assuming you don't mind breaking a tiny law or two.

Check it out here.

Stop being boring, news

I haven't updated the blog in a while, because aside from the superbowl, everything has been extremely boring.

Let's see. The best I can find, would be that Microsoft offered a bid of 44.6 billion dollars to acquire Yahoo!.. and ah. Hmm..

You know I love me some CIA stories.

Today the President approved the CIA's public disclosure of a widely condemned "interrogation technique" known as waterboarding. (Ever seen The Bourne Ultimatum?) CIA Director Michael Hayden had some bs reasons for using it, something about being low on necessary information surrounding the plans and whereabouts of Al-Quaeda, and having to use it, blahblah. They say it hasn't been used in 5 years, but could with the permission of the President. As of now, they refuse to call it torture.

What else.. I read that Google plans to team up with some Chinese music companies to compete with the largest search engine in China, which is currently offering free mp3 downloads-- unlicensed. Google aims to offer the same sort of thing but with licensed music.. we'll see where they get with that!

Lastly, the GPS tracking company known as Loopt, used by Nextel, Sprint, and Boost Mobile, is now also being used by CBS in such a way that if anyone on a mobile phone goes to access their site through the mobile browser, web advertisements will appear in accordance to that person's surroundings. For example, if there were a Starbucks nearby while the site was being accessed, the advertisements would be for Starbucks.

Clever in my opinion. Loopt is also in negotiations with all major service providers to allow wider use of this network. We're still not where the Japanese are with their phones, but we're making some slow progress I suppose.

I'll try and find something other than mediorcre news to post here.. in the meantime, read the full stories at these jumps:

Reuters: CIA

BusinessWeek: Yahoo! bid

PC World: Mobile Ads

Associated Press: Google in China
