But I went digging, and I have to say that the Naruto edit was excellently done and pretty hilarious. :'D

The battle against the Church of Scientology continues
The epic online battle between the vigilante group "Anonymous" and the Church of scientology continues.
Two new videos were recently released by the group, also known as Anon. The first, which is now taken off of YouTube for violation of the TOS, crticized media and journalists for not reporting the negative effects of Scientology:
"We find it interesting that you did not mention the other objections in your news reporting. The stifling and punishment of dissent within the totalitarian organization of Scientology. The numerous, alleged human rights violations. Such as the treatment and events that led to the deaths of victims of the cult such as Lisa McPherson.
This Cult is Nothing but a psychotically driven pyramid scheme.
Why are you, the news media, afraid of discussing these matters? It is your duty to report on these matters. You are failing in your duty."
The second video, still on YouTube as of this published post, is directed to members of the church, urging them to open their eyes to the restrictions they have as members of this "powerful, criminal fascist regime".
A link in the description of the second YouTube video provides other methods to see their videos and older, "banned" videos.

I will keep the second one up right here until it is taken off, if it is. I love this stuff, it reminds me of the series known as Ghost in the Shell.

Almost to synthetic life
Scientists on the 24th announced that the second of three steps to create synthetic life has been successfully completed.
This second stage was the creation of an entire synthetic genome.
Last year, the same team completed the first step by transplanting a genome from one species of bacteria to another, changing it's identity.
The third step will be to take the synthesized DNA and get it into a bacterium where it will take over, and ultimately produce a synthetic cell...
So get this.
"Such an accomplishment would then allow scientists to create synthetic life-forms that may one day produce biofuels, clean up toxic waste, and fight global warming. (Related: "Gene-Altered Plant, Tree Can Suck Up Toxins" [October 15, 2007].)"
And,
"By 2012, he added, the technology should exist to routinely design and construct genomes of any bacteria or single-celled organism with a membrane-bound nucleus.
"Which also means," he said, "that it will be possible to construct some mammalian chromosomes."
... Anyone ever read Aldous Huxley's Brave New World?
Here we come.

Sometimes.. the good things are best left unseen
Well..
To get away from the terrible recent stories like the two planes that crashed over another auto center near to mine, and Heath Ledger's death, I thought maybe I would dig up a more uplifting story.
Let's seeee...

Apple's assorted basket of announcements
It would be tough to beat last year's announcement of the iPhone, yes, but hey. Jobs did his best, though most announcements were already anticipated.
The biggest (or slimmest) would be "the world's thinnest notebook", the MacBook Air.
It's a cool notebook, yeah. No room for a cd drive of course, but who needs it? They sell an external. That didn't lessen the price any, unfortunately. Why should it? It's the world's thinnest notebook, they don't have to cut the consumer a break. It does have a trackpad that acts just like the iPhone and iPod touch, which is one of my favorite features. It also comes with 2gb of RAM, and has an available 64mb solid state drive. Otherwise you get a regular 80mb drive that spins at a measly 4800rpm.
This regular model puts you at $1799.
Go up to the solid state drive and to 1.8GHz (from 1.6) and swallow a $3098 price point.
Lame. Next biggest (bigger), would be the new iTunes movie rentals. Netflix took some defensive action prior to the announcement, but their real competitor is Blockbuster at this time.
Joining these "major" announcements were the following:
iTunes Digital Copy
New software for Apple TV
Software upgrade for iPod touch
iPhone software update
Time Capsule - wireless backup
Late.

Why I wouldn't sell a car to the FBI
They credit don't get it! Money's funny.
The FBI was cut off temporarily from phone taps because of unpaid bills.
Reportedly more than half of 990 phone-tapping related bills were not paid on time, including one for over $66,000. Lines were disconnected at times.
Niice. Maybe I can roll the deal with around 27.99% APR..
No, I can't get you approved for the Corolla with 124,000 miles. Mooch.

Blu-ray Goes for the K-O
Looks like Sony is on the right side of media format for once. The last two major companies that were in support of the HD-DVD format are ending their contracts soon.
What does this mean for you? Hopefully that we will finally have a standard to go by for the next-gen media format.
HD-DVDs and their players were a little cheaper, but Blu-ray has it beat in most other ways.

So, I've been inspired
Lupe Fiasco's The Cool is definitely the best CD I've bought.
In fact, just saying that I bought it says a lot. I've only bought like 5 CDs in my life. Shh.
Here's one of the tracks, most likely to be his next single.
